Somerville budget season kicks off

, and we'd like to encourage everyone to attend. The city will be beginning the process of deciding how to spend just over $300 million, and there are some major competing priorities. We're joining with

to ask people to show up to support spending on affordable housing.

There are a lot of very important budget priorities this year, of course, including the dire maintenance situation at the Winter Hill School, which has

. But affordable housing remains a key priority as well, and we want to ask the city to make sure it's not overlooked.
