2021 Municipal Election Guide & Endorsements
Voter Guide & Endorsements
This is a big year for Somerville elections, and we're pleased to offer you a voter guide and, for the first time, endorsements. Please review it and share it with your friends & neighbors!
We’re pleased to announce that we’re endorsing these candidates:
Katjana BallantyneandMary Cassesso for Mayor
Willie Burnley Jr. for At-large City Councilor
Charlotte Kelly for At-large City Councilor
Jake Wilson for At-large City Councilor
Ben Ewen-Campen for Ward 3 City Councilor
Beatriz Gómez-Mouakad for Ward 5 City Councilor
Judy Pineda Neufeld for Ward 7 City Councilor
Both Katjana & Mary are excellent on our key priorities, so we chose to endorse both. We encourage you to look to other guides to determine your own choice.
We realize that Ben is running unopposed, yet he took the time to fill out our survey nonetheless, and we look forward to his continued presence on our City Council.
We have additional thoughts on our website for candidates that did not meet our criteria for endorsement, yet would still be great choices.
Lastly, we want to recognize that many candidates, both privately and in our survey, provided valuable feedback that our survey was too simplistic, and we’ve taken that to heart & will work on that moving forward. Thanks!
