September Events
We've got a busy couple of weeks ahead of us, with some great in-person events this month. We hope to see you there!
From September 10 to November 4, the Community Action Agency of Somerville (CAAS) presents Evicted, a museum exhibit based on
. Both exhibit and book highlight the toll that eviction takes on families and communities, and underscore why we need broad support for abundant housing alongside robust tenant protections.
200 McGrath/Hub Glass Site Walk:
Part of a series of neighborhood meetings surrounding the redevelopment of the Hub Glass site. Meet in the parking lot at 216 McGrath (Hub Glass) at 1:00 pm on September 14 to get an in-person tour of the location and what the developers are planning. Please email
if you plan to attend, so we can tell the hosts how many people to expect.
In the wake of yet another fatal crash, we're joining with street safety groups from Cambridge and Somerville to ask Somerville to pass a new ordinance to improve street safety and allocate more of our limited space to people rather than cars. The mayor and city council seem to be poised to agree with us, so please join us for this family-friendly gathering at Seven Hills Park in Davis Square on September 17 at 10:00 am!
We'll have a table at the Fluff Festival that same afternoon! Drop by any time from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm to say hello and talk about how new homes and new neighbors can help our community thrive.
