Good News

If you don't subscribe to Ward 3 Councilor Ben Ewen-Campen's newsletter, you might have missed this piece of excellent housing news: a multifamily apartment building with mostly senior fixed-income tenants came up for sale, and instead of facing eviction at the hands of new ownership, the Somerville Community Corporation's Hundred Homes program was able to buy the entire building and convert it into permanently affordable housing. The Hundred Homes program is funded in part by fees from the construction of new buildings, so it's nice to see that money being put to work for affordable housing.
