Just a quick reminder that Somerville YIMBY members will be appearing at two in-person events tomorrow:

Rally for Safe Streets:

In the wake of yet another fatal crash, we're joining with street safety groups from Cambridge and Somerville to ask Somerville to pass a new ordinance to improve street safety and allocate more of our limited space to people rather than cars. The mayor and city council seem to be poised to agree with us, so please join us for this family-friendly gathering at Seven Hills Park in Davis Square on September 17 at 10:00 am. There's a great speaker lineup!

Fluff Festival:

We'll have a table at the Fluff Festival! Drop by any time from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm to say hello and talk about how new homes and new neighbors can help our community thrive.

We've also added several new events to the Somerville YIMBY online calendar, including:

Protected Bike Lanes at the Traffic Commission, Wednesday 9/21 at 5:30 pm: The mayor presents a plan for protected bike lanes on Holland Ave. The city's moving quickly on this in response to advocacy from the community, so this is a great chance to help bring positive change to the finish line!

MBTA Communities Briefing, Wednesday 9/28 at 6:00 pm: Learn about the latest MBTA Communities Law guidance and help build strategies for advocacy. Abundant Housing MA members only.
