In the spirit of loving our neighbors and neighbors-to-be in a more concerted way, Somerville YIMBY is kicking off 2022 with some organizational updates and a plan to expand our activities this year. 

Volunteer Opportunities

  • We are formalizing our membership. If you're interested in volunteering and having greater input on this year's action, please contact [email protected] to formally register and join our members message board.

  • We are preparing a policy memo about improvements to accessory dwelling unit zoning, which we hope to deliver to the new Land Use Committee in the next few weeks. If you have experience in policy development or consider yourself a persuasive writer, please contact Aaron Weber.

Historic Commission Meeting

This month, the

, most notably one to demolish the one-story buildings at 720-722 Broadway, which includes the site of Lyndell's Bakery. This will be a closely-watched process, so we plan to be in attendance to learn as much as we can about the proposal and look for a win-win outcome here.
