Somerville YIMBY General Meeting

We'll be hosting the first in a series of monthly general meetings this

. We'll talk about our recent work and outreach, and ask members like you for input on topics including:

  • How to decide on endorsements for the 2023 City Council elections

  • Goals for future zoning reform

  • New ways to promote affordable housing

  • Building coalitions with other advocacy groups

We'll plan to host these meetings every month on the 2nd second Wednesday of each month. If there's a topic you'd like to be sure to discuss, feel free to email

CultureHouse Popup with Somerville YIMBY

has invited us to host an info session/listening session the afternoon of Thursday, May 18 at 20 Broadway from 1 pm to 8 pm. Join us share your experiences with the housing crisis and what you want to see in the future of Somerville. We'll also have information about the city's planning and zoning process, regional issues that impact our neighborhoods, and what the city's doing to create affordable housing.

  Clarendon Hill Redevelopment Groundbreaking

The city will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the redevelopment of Clarendon Hill public housing on Thursday, May 25 and 10:00 am. Mayor Ballantyne, along with MassHousing Executive Director Chrystal Kornegay, DHCD Undersecretary Jennifer Maddox, and Rep. Barber will introduce the project. This is phase one of a remarkable upgrade to the existing public housing and green space as well as the addition of new market-rate and low-to-middle-income housing.
