Approved!

We're thrilled to share that the City Council approved the city's portion of the Clarendon Hill project funding at their meeting last Thursday evening. This has been a very long-fought battle to replace and expand the badly outdated public housing in Clarendon Hill, and while everyone's been frustrated by the delay, the outcome is great. Not only will the existing homes be rebuilt, but new ones will be added – both market-rate and subsidized. Current residents displaced by construction will be first to return to the new buildings, which will have new green space as well. And the whole thing will be built by people paid guaranteed good wages. The residents of Clarendon Hill have been effective and tireless advocates in this entire process, and deserve the whole city's applause.
