Two Quick Action Opportunities This Week!

Somerville YIMBY

We've got two key items for you this week.

Support Transit-Oriented Development

Last week, Ben Rogan went before the Planning board with a proposal to build a 6-story LEED Platinum certified building at 28-44 Broadway (the empty lot next to Taco Loco). The proposal is for 91 apartments and, since it's so close to Sullivan and Assembly Squares, very little parking. This is a great-looking project but it's not guaranteed to succeed, so it will really help to have folks write in with a little support.

(the relevant part starts at about an hour and fifteen minutes in) and – especially if you live nearby – drop a line to

to let them know you support transit-oriented development on Broadway!

Support Clarendon Hill

The residents of the public housing in Clarendon Hill have long needed replacements for their badly outdated homes. The process of getting to it has taken ages upon ages, but the city's just about ready to sign off on spending the money to get started on a project to build new public housing in a complex deal that will also include privately built mixed-income and market-rate housing, green space, and safety improvements to Alewife Brook Parkway. If you can, please join this

. There's a full agenda, but the approval to spend money to build this new housing is item 12. Again, this will be especially good if you live nearby, but it affects the whole city and every bit of support helps. We hope to see you there!
